With broken wheels and a few bends to the body this is definitely for restoration. Also a great opportunity to detail the model.

The axles were cut to remove the wheels and the body sandblasted to remove the paint. Detail removal of stubborn pain was completed with a dental pick.

The wheels are worthy of some mention here. The model itself is crude, with lack of detail and a huge gap in the back under the crane. It always looks as if something is missing. But for some reason the wheels are incredible. Cast in hard rubber, they have a metal hub, not seen anywhere else on compatible models. Most wheels are of plastic, while metal, sometimes pressed steel or tin, even cardboard. All of which are a one piece casting or single material. Why, on such a poor model, did the manufacturer detail such a wheel. Or is this a part from a different manufacturer bought in as a better option than make your own.

The respray was in Blue with detail work to the headlamps and grille. The wheels will be
reproduced in plastic but as this will take a little time, wooden ones have been made, rather crude but fit for the purpose.
